Just a thought

This is a thought that came across my mind after writing the last line in the earlier blog..

The guy buddy friend (fm earlier blog) & my first boyfriend both come from Christian family background. It so happened that both have Peranakan background..How come both of them have never reach out or share the gospel with me when we were schooling?

Thank God I’m saved now & having walked with Jesus for the last almost 10 years,He is still the faithful God that I know from day one..

My friend gotten married with a baby boy

2 days ago while checking my Facebook,I realised that a friend was added into my list (can’t remember if he found me or I found him).He is my long-lost secondary sch friend,we have been in the same class fm Sec 1 – 4..Concidentally,we went to the same JC too,we were in the same faculty but different class,we were just 2 classes away from each other..

After we finished JC where he went NS & I went Uni,we seem to lost contact..Though we meet once a year at some gathering but it only lasted for 2 yrs (if my memory has not failed me)…We are really close friends & I always feel that he gota be quite thankful to me during his sec days..Cos’ almost everyday,he will call me & ask, “Is there any homework? When must we hand in? Any test coming soon? Can lend me your notes to copy?” I’m like his secretary & sometimes I wonder what he did in class..He calls me so often that even my mum recognise his voice..wahahha.. :P

The irony thing is I just knew fm Facebook that he gotten married last yr & his baby boy has just turned 2..Well,the last time I saw him was prob 2 yrs ago during 1 of our sec sch friend’s wedding..During then,I still felt that he wasn’t ready to settle down & have kids.Or is it because we have not contacted for so long that maybe I didn’t noticed that he has changed?

Out of the sec sch grp of males that he always hang out with,I always thot that he & Zhuwei will probably be the last 2 or 3 who will get married cos’ he’s generally quite playful..But I’m really happy to see him having his own family now..More than just that,I think & believe that he is more on fire on God now (at least I hope from the pics that I saw fm his wedding)..

Fruitful Taiwan Trip

I have been away for the last 1 week to Taiwan & I really enjoyed it very much…

First of all,the people in the group were fun & there wasn’t much conflict & I have quite a good roommate.Secondly, though it was raining most of the times & I didn’t like that cos’ is abit gross to walk thru all the nite mkt but still it beats having a super duper hot weather.Thirdly,I really spent all that I had, whatever $ I brought is spent & there was no penny left to my name.. :)

We were so desperate that we went to the ATM to withdraw cash..This is the 1st time that I actually have to go withdraw $ at the ATM while holidaying overseas,if not,I will not have any $ left for my lunch..hahhhaa..

We stayed in Taipei for 4 nights & stayed in Kao Xiong for 2 nights. It was really fun!!! We walked & shopped until we dropped..The distance & amount of walk that I did in Taiwan probably is more than what I walked for 2 weeks in Spore..The night mkts are so super huge & there was interesting food & things to buy..This trip is really a shopping & eating trip..Weng has already decided that he wants to go back again next yr. Maybe, next yr,we shld visit some of the scenic places since we already know what & where we will shop..

I bought 8 T-shirts,3 jeans,4 casual shorts,3 short skirts,3 home-wear shorts,2 office wear tops,3 dresses,1 jacket & > 50+ mask (this is only for myself & it does not include those that I bought for CG & friends),1 bag,2 pairs of shoes, several pairs of earrings & 1 necklace..What u see in the pic are only those items that I bought for myself..
They do not include the 6 t-shirts,several earrings & accessories that I bought for my fellow leaders, the 2 t-shirts that I bought for my good friends, the clothes that I bought for my family, the masks that I bought for my CG and of course the food that I bought back for CG,office, the leaders & my family.

Just in case if you are wondering why I shopped so much in Taiwan,is not that I have that much $ but I really have been “fasting” from shopping since Feb period & I probably will “fast” from shopping again for the next few mths… But things in Taiwan are relatively cheaper than Spore or Hong Kong & they have more variety..If you want to look for casual wear,Taiwan is the place to go but I don’t seem to be able to find office wear stuff there unless u go to their departmental store (like our Taka or Isetan kind but they can be alittle pricey)..If u are looking for office wear at Xi Men Ting or Wu Fen Pu,I dont really think you can find much..So,that was just the slight little disappointment…

But overall,I think Taiwan is a nice place to eat, shop & prob visit some of their scenic places…The people there are very friendly & their sales staff at the malls or the fast-food places/restaurants are very polite & they really provide good customer service – smthing you won’t find in Spore or HK.

If you are thinking of having a holiday,Taiwan is a place to consider.

Tulips can’t be made into dry flowers

I just realized that tulips can’t be made into dry flowers..To think that I even asked Weng to overturn the bouquet (that i used for the photoshoot) on Sat & bring for me on Sunday when he comes by my place..

Is roses the only choice to create them as dry flowers? Hmmm…But I’m not really into roses..I love sunflowers,lilies,forget-me-nots,baby breathes..

Sidetrack alittle,my mum always complain about that 3 bouquets that is hanging upside down at my window pane cos’ she always feel that they are collecting dust (is true) & will attract those little insects (not that I hve seen any yet).. :)
Until I really feel convicted to throw them away or until I shift house, they probably will remain there for awhile.. (the 1st bouquet was hung since a few yrs ago,i tink).. hahhaa

Meal for mummy dearest

Wonder if you can see the pics clearly?

Anyway,I decided to cook dinner for my mummy today as I feel that dining out is so expensive & if no reservations are made,it is going to be super crowded..What beats a home-cooked meal when I can decide whatever I want to cook..(since I have no idea where & what to eat either)

I believe a home-cooked meal means more to my mum than dining out, especially I don’t cook at home..(not that I don’t know how to cook but there is no need at the moment)

So,the dinner consists of pan-fried red snapper fillet with sauce (is the dish that looks brownish),stir-fried chicken cubes in terriyaki sauce, fried kailan & my proudest cum most satisfied dish – watercress soup with egg tofu & enoki mushroom & abalone mushroom & a jap mushroom (whc I can’t rem its name)..The soup took 3.5 hours to broth with the soup base using red dates & some dried oyster..My mum is a Cantonese & I think I have caught this “soup-nature” in me..I love soups..Give me a bowl of soup & rice,I can be very happy even with no meat..

To my dearest mummy,I love you lots & thanks for everything that you have done in my life..

Fun but tiring photoshoot

We had our photoshoot on friday & it lasted from 10am – almost 7pm…

We had our indoor shoot in the studio fm 11.15am – almost 2pm. It was fun, posing & it is a good thing that I am familiar with the photographer & he is easy to work with. So,there weren’t moments of awkwardness or silence..You can go & ask Alan or Audrey or Cindy (who happens to be our driver,my helper,my make-up artist for that day)..While we were posing,I keep hearing their laughter & comments lor..They “ma-chim” like watching some free entertainment.. :)

Alan not only had to be our driver but he also acted as the “fan-carrier boy” (needed for indoor shoot) cum my “umbrella seeker”..Cos Weng forget to pack the umbrella in Alan’s car..And the weather was super hot when we went for the outdoor shoot. But still, thank God for good weather cos’ it actually rained the night before.

We went Spore Flyer, Hortpark,Upper Pierce Reservoir for our outdoor shoots..By the time we reached Upper Pierce, both of our energy are running low liao & we are really trying very hard to smile..The voice of my photographer, “I know your are tired but I can still see if you are smiling behind my lens though your are a distance away” still rings in my ear… Hahaha..
So,when we heard him say, “OK,I promise this will be the last few shots”…My eyes lit up cos that means can go home liao & I can finally eat..We only had breakfast & there was no time for lunch at all.. So, the beehoon that my dad bought for me for breakfast is quite “powerful” cos I actually endured no lunch, considering that I’m the kind who will go hungry every 4 hours after my last meal..So,u can see that fasting is a challenge to me sometimes..:P

It was a super tiring day…But it was fun & we enjoyed it despite the hot weather..I was completely “KO” by the time we finish dinner with Alan,Audrey,Eugene & Beatrice..After unpacking all my stuff, removing my make-up & bathing..I slept from 12 midnite till the next afternoon 12pm..That’s how tired I was..

We took some pics fm Weng’s camera & I shall see when I can upload some shots for viewing pleasure.. :)
