We are blessed

We have just gone for our 1st appointment with HDB on Tue. Thank God that we are able to make a private arrangement with the sellers to get the keys first so that we can start doing the renovation.

One of my fellow CGL blessed us with a headboard for the bed as it came as an extra when he purchased furniture. Just yesterday (and confirmed this morning), one of Weng’s CG member who is relocating decide to bless us with a washing machine. Though is a one year old machine, we are still thankful to this couple for thinking about us and blessing us. It helps us financially.

We also bought our TV at Sitex today (and the freebies were $400 Robinson/John Little voucher, $200 NTUC voucher, a Samsung fridge which we wanted to buy and a camera). We felt that it was a good buy at close to $2.1K as we aren’t sure if we can get even better deal during the Xmas sale.

Just spoke to my mum earlier and she said that actually, both herself & my dad wanted to bless us with a TV set & a fridge. But since we have bought it, she say she will consider giving us in cash instead. She also told me that we don’t have to buy slow cooker, cultery set and all the utensils in the kitchen as she will be getting those for us.

As our renovation is going to be quite substantial, we are praying that God will provide for us (esp now is building fund and we are very stretched in our finances), praying that as Weng goes back to work after 16 days of reservist that God will grant him favour, open doors and bring the right people to him and he will begin to close every deals that comes along his way, praying that my bonus paid next Feb will be in 5-digit figure & pay increment and praying that God will add more to us.

Though is just simple gestures from the different ones, we are thankful to our parents, friends & CG members for loving us. Please keep us in prayers and thank you so much.

A simple call

Some of my members who were with me throughout the whole Asia Conf will know that I was down with flu since Fri nite, which unfortunately continued till Sat. On Sat late afternoon, while waiting in Hall 10 to Q up for the conf, my flu got worse and I really struggled thru the nite.

Until even Sun, I was still feeling abit fluish (one of my mbr said that he never knew that there’s is this word call fluish) but I still need to run all over the place, having no time to eat lunch and dinner to help run one of the event. I was really glad that Asia Conf is finally over.

What touched me was what happened this morning – one of my mbr (whom I mentioned in my earlier post is going thru difficult time in work & mum’s health issue) actually called me and asked how I was feeling and even suggested that I should go for flu vaccination after I have recovered. Though it was just a simple phone call of 5 mins, I really appreciated the thought and effort.
Truly, when you sow kindness, love, care & concern to someone, you will also reap back the same thing. PTL!

Aching & sore

After 5 days of standing, being in the Q & running around to help run some of events at Asia Conf, my legs are finally calling it quits. After I finished bathing last nite, I can really feel the ache in my calve muscles and the sole of my feet. Even the skin around my toe are experiencing some slight peeling.

Dear Dear is in even worse condition – both his legs are swollen at the area that is near the ankle towards the centre (don’t know what that area is called) and he went for accupunture earlier (not forgetting that he’s still on reservist and only have sat – mon off after fieldcamp).

I wonder how are the rest feeling? I know some of my members also “KO” after the finale and probably stoning during the last session. :) Me too, I was also trying hard to stay awake at some of the sessions. Maybe we have all grown older and our physical state is not as strong as they were in our younger days.

Home Alone

Today is the start of being Home Alone cos dear dear is going outfield and won’t be home till either sat or sun. Sob…Sob…

Is not my first time alone at home. But is the first time that I be home without hubby…Feels weird.. Back in my family, when my parents went overseas and my bro will go bunk in & stay overnight at his friend’s place, I’m also alone…just that mine is a HDB 3 Rm flat…now i’m staying at a HDB 5 Rm flat (a temporary place)..

When the house is alittle big,it can get kind of scary and alone…somemore, there are weird voices/sounds and I don’t even know where the source is from sometimes.

The only good thing is I be going Asia Conf the next few things and I be kept super busy.. So,prob by the time I reach home, I shld be quite “KO”.

My first time in Chinese

Preaching in English has never been a problem for me and I thank God that He has given me the ability to speak well and be a person who is pretty eloquent. But having to preach in Chinese proves to be a challenge for me (not that I’m bad with Chinese,I can speak & write Chinese).

One of my CG mbrs have been having quite abit of challenges coming his way – issues that are still not resolved at work & his mum’s suspected illness + his second baby will be due in 2 months+ time. Since last Tue,the CG have been on prayer chain praying & interceding for him & his family.
Finally, the medical report of his mum is out on Thur. His mum has leukemia but is not acute and can only be controlled by taking medicine. Though the report is not what we desire,we still want to thank God that the illness is not acute and we will continue to pray agst it.

Immediately after he text me, I called him & encourage him. 10 mins after our phone call ended,he text me and asked, “Can I bring my mum to CG tonight?” OF COURSE, I said. Even though auntie understand abit of english,I told myself that I’m going to attempt to try preaching & translating into Chinese at the same time. I preached last week sermon about valleys of life & I tried my best to encourage auntie & my mbr thru the sermon. Before auntie left, we laid hands on her & my mbr and prayed for the family.

Yes,times may be tough for this family but if God is for us,who can be agst us? And I truly felt that there was a sense of unity as the CG began to embark on this prayer chain. The best part is this prayer chain was initiatied by the members themselves, which I really felt very encouraged that they are taking ownership and standing in the gap for one another.

Before my mbr left, he thank me & told me that I did a great job. What I have done is something that is so basic for me as a believer, not just because I’m the CGL. I know what I have done is nothing compared to the love & the things that God can do for auntie & this family.

Dear God, I’m praying that Your healing hands is upon auntie & You will continue to show this member the paths, the directions as he continue to seek You in prayer. I pray that You will bring him to a deeper and a closer walk with You. Not his will but Your will be done in his life. Amen.

Al Fresco Dining

If you like al fresco dining & looking at mid-range prices & not too fussy about food, you can consider Bliss Restaurant at Punggol Park. The place is casual with lots of young people hanging out with their friends. The al fresco dinng area oversees the pond (or should I say lake or whatever it is) with lots of breeze from the fans above,so you don’t have to worry about mosquito bites.

Dear Dear and I are not that fussy about food.. We both like the sets that we order – Gratin Chicken & Boneless Chicken Leg is mushroom sauce. Maybe, next time,we should try the wine & dessert. The service is quite attentive too just that we waited for awhile for the bill.

Nice place for couples, friends and even families to have a get together.. We should be going back again bah…

My dear dedicate this for song to me

LOVE OF A LIFETIME

I guess the time was right for us to say
We’d take our time and live our lives together day by day
We’ll make a wish and send it on a prayer
We know our dreams can all come true
With love that we can share

With you I never wonder – Will you be there for me
With you I never wonder – You’re the right one for me

Chorus:
I finally found the love of a lifetime
A love to last my whole life through
I finally found the love of a lifetime
Forever in my heart, I finally found the love of a lifetime

With every kiss our love is like brand-new
And every star up in the sky was made for me and you
Still we both know that the road is long
(But) We know that we will be together
Because our love is strong
